On Filena and ZSNES

There are a lot of versions of ZSNES that don’t correctly emulate Filena and hang at certain points. If you want to use ZSNES to emulate the game, I strongly recommend you use one of the WIP versions of ZSNES instead of an official release — I’ve been using the latest WIPs and I haven’t had a single hang.

I put in an extra bit of work on Filena today to produce a small teaser patch, which should leave you with at least the first couple hours of gameplay if you go around talking to everyone. Enjoy!
Make sure you read the readme.txt file! It contains useful information and some anecdotal information too. I didn’t write all of it for nothing!

The stench of Clechia

I’ve been able to successfully reinsert translated text from the Filena dumps, thanks to Disnesquick’s hard work on the inserter. Here’s a few shots of newly-inserted dialogue:

HRK! is a real sound effect, okay :(
Things aren’t yet perfect, but it’s a good start. Barring any terrible mishaps or show-stopping crashes, I may make a teaser (= buggy and incomplete) patch to introduce people to the game and titillate the small underground of people interested in it already. That largely depends on time/motivation/effort.
