Finished rough first draft of the Lady Stalker script. Now it just needs edited for the three “S”s: Style, S…consistency and Scontext.
Moving on to the script for Hourai High now.

Current status of everything (translation-side):
Lady Stalker: First draft done, waiting for hacking-side stuff on AGTP’s side so I can check it out in-game as I edit.
Hourai High: Finished about half of one of the three big dialogue files (~100kb each, if I recall correctly) as of today. Still hoping Akujin might pop up with the original script one day. Where are you, Akujin? 
Filena: Annoying small technical issues are holding things up a bit, and a general edit needs to be done mainly for style issues. Mainly a question of working up enthusiasm after relative inactivity due to being occupied with a lot of other stuff for a while since I last worked on it.
Energy Breaker: DNQ’s been working on killing some of the last bugs and stuff, and I’m nearly done with the final edit of the script which life rudely interrupted a short while ago.
That Octopus Game: I got bored of it ages ago and can’t be bothered to work on it any more.
I’ve been getting a lot of search hits for Lady Stalker recently, and coincidentally I’ve been working solely on the Lady Stalker script this past couple of days. Only about 2000 lines of the Japanese script left, which I’d guess adds up to about a quarter or a fifth of the whole script.

I’ve been working on getting the Filena script as polished as I can in preparation for other language translations of Filena, as well as working on a page to collect all the resources and information necessary for a translation. However, I’d like to gauge people’s interest. I see there were a fair few downloads of the Japanese dialogue script, and I’d like to know if anyone’s been working on it at all. Basically, I’d just like to know if any interest has been generated, and whether anyone’s started or is preparing to translate the game into their own language. Please leave a comment and let me know which language you want to do if you are. (I’m not expecting a huge result, but this will affect how I implement the planned resource set.)

On the final release of the translation, I plan to make all the necessary tools and information freely available here for download.
Since I’ve just gotten permission to make the dialogue compression tool available, I’m going to post the original Japanese dialogue scripts so that foreign translators can get a head start. The English scripts will be available after the final release of the translation, but I strongly recommend that any translator working on the game translate directly from the Japanese rather than translate my translation.
Anyway, please click here for the Japanese scripts. You’ll need a text editor capable of viewing EUC-JIS Japanese encoding. Other than that, all you need to know is that you can comment out Japanese lines with a semi-colon (;) at the start of the line.

Not much to report at the moment; I’ve been busy with professional work lately, but I’ve recently gotten byuu’s invaluable help in sorting out some of the last bits of technical work that needs doing, so hopefully we can make some good progress there. If you’re a percentage type of guy, I guess the current progress for the entire patch is something like 95%? The translation itself is pretty much done.
In the meantime, here’s Maegra’s great title screen logo design that we’re going to use:

Sliver X recently released his Valis (NES) projects to which I contributed the English translation. The project was two-fold; there’s a straight-up translation of Valis, and there’s also an alternate patch named Valis++ which features a whole bunch of hacking work to make playing the game less masochistic. (You really want to play Valis++ unless you are some kind of loopy diehard.)

Umihara Kawase was my very first contribution to the translation scene, and it’s very nostalgic for me.

However, I also produced the original translation when I was an embarassing highschool kid, and it ended up being that I couldn’t think back on it without cringing in embarassment because of the way I’d done things.
The main thing that bothered me was that I had altered the TNN logo graphic at the start of the game to a short message, and another thing was the really crappy hand-written “The End!” on the Game Over screen. I decided I couldn’t put this embarassing work on my current site without fixing this, and I thought maybe I could at least get this out there so that eventually only a few people will know that I was a dumb highschool kid once. Aside from removing the idiocy and improving the Game Over graphic text, the patch remains the same, but I would very much appreciate it if any sites carrying the patch would update it with this release.
